A high school cheerleader answers a website contact form and goes to disable a doomsday device before curfew. That was the pitch Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle sold to Disney Channel, and Kim Possible premiered on June 7, 2002, running four seasons and two television films through 2007. The show worked because it never treated the two halves of Kim’s life as separate. Missing a chemistry assignment carried the same weight as a villain’s hideout going up in flames, and the jokes came from a teenager trying to schedule both.
The cast was built with unusual care for a Saturday morning lineup. Nearly every character has an internal contradiction rather than a single trait, which is what makes the results here worth reading rather than a list of names. Kim herself is competent to the point of being insufferable about it, and her real weakness is that asking for help feels like failure. Ron Stoppable is the opposite arrangement: anxious, easily distracted, obsessed with Bueno Nacho, and reliably the one who saves the mission by doing something no strategist would have planned. Rufus, his naked mole rat, fits in a cargo pocket and solves problems requiring hands smaller than a human’s.
Shego is the standout. A former hero who worked alongside her brothers in Team Go before deciding that villainy suited her temperament better, she throws green plasma, delivers most of the show’s best lines, and is visibly more capable than the man she works for. Dr. Drakken is that man: blue-skinned, thin-skinned, endlessly inventive, and undone every single time by an ego that makes him explain the plan out loud. The pair function as a workplace comedy about a brilliant employee and a boss who does not deserve her.
The supporting results widen the range further. Wade is a ten-year-old technology prodigy who runs Kim’s entire support operation from his bedroom and almost never leaves it. Monique is the friend with actual social intelligence, working retail at Club Banana and giving advice Kim tends to ignore. Bonnie Rockwaller is the rival cheerleader whose competitiveness is at least honest. Dr. Ann Possible is a brain surgeon who treats her daughter’s global rescue schedule with the same calm she brings to an operating theater. Steve Barkin substitute-teaches every subject in the building with military bearing and no subject expertise. Monkey Fist was an archaeologist named Montgomery Fiske who had his hands and feet surgically altered into a monkey’s in pursuit of mystical power, which is a level of commitment few villains match. Camille Leon is an heiress who spent her fortune on shapeshifting and uses it mostly for shopping.
The questions cover how you handle pressure, whether you plan or improvise, what you do when someone else gets the credit, and how you behave toward people you find irritating. Answer them the way a Tuesday would find you, not the way a mission would.
